ANNUAL INTERHOUSE ATHLETIC MEET 2017-18

In the mornings of October 27th and 28th 2017, the sports ground of Jankidevi Public School was abuzzed on the occasion of the school’s Annual Interhouse Athletic Meet. On the inaugural day of the Meet, former Deputy General of Police Dr. Manoj Bhatt graced the occasion with his presence as chief guest.

 

Principal Mrs. Jayashree Pareek welcomed Former DGP Dr. Manoj Bhatt and wished all the participants very best of luck. She also reminded the students to put their best foot forward and remember that each victory is to be shared humbly and each defeat is to be accepted gracefully.

 

Former DGP Dr. Manoj Bhatt declared the ‘Athletic Meet Open’ and stressed on the school’s quote of the day “Practice like you’ve never won, Perform like you’ve never lost”  and said that the quote is not only applicable for the day but also for our lives. He appreciated the beautiful school infrastructure and motivated the students to perform their best and keeping up the spirit of true sportsmanship.

 

Parents were enthralled by the beautiful march past of the school’s four houses Karna, Abhimanyu, Eklvaya, Arjuna. They were mesmerized by the school’s Scottish Band “Drums Call”, fiery Martial Arts “Katas” displayed by the tiny tots and witnessed a history being created when the first of its kind toddler’s “Little Master Band” from Grade I and II displayed their band formation on the grounds of Jankidevi Public School.

 

On the first day of this Two-Day Interhouse Athletic Meet various events of Pre-Primary and Primary kids took place.

 

On the second and concluding day, Asian Gold Medalist and former Olympic runner Shri Ram Singh Shekhawat ji graced the occasion. Shri Shekhawat in his speech, praised the school infrastructure and stated that Jankidevi Public School is one of the very few schools providing such “extensive sports facilities” to its students along with education, which is the need of the day. He also stated that no one is a born sportsperson and one only becomes so after prolonged hardwork, efforts and dedication. He stressed on the importance of sports for discipline in one’s health, society and country as a whole.

 

He also thanked parents for taking pains to make their children participate in sports, bring them for practice and be present on the grounds to boost their motivation.

 

On the day of conclusion, Athletic events of middle to senior secondary levels took place and prizes were given away to the winners including Best Athlete Male, Best Athlete Female and Best House in sports amidst echoing cheers and applauses of the highly excited spectator crowd of students and parents.
